What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting® is the only body contouring procedure that uses the power of controlled freezing energy to visibly reduce stubborn fat cells. CoolSculpting is FDA-approved, non-invasive, and completely safe. The CoolSculpting® device uses controlled bursts of freezing energy to directly target fat cells beneath the deepest skin layers. This freezes and destroys the targeted fat cells, allowing natural processes to eliminate them from the body. CoolSculpting® can be used for fat in many areas of the body, including the abdomen, legs, back, and arms. CoolSculpting® can even be used for chin contouring to eliminate the appearance of a double chin.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from CoolSculpting®?
CoolSculpting® treatment permanently destroys fat cells in the treatment area. As a result, patients can enjoy long-lasting and even permanent results from treatment. However, it can take several weeks for the full results of treatment to become visible. Most patients notice results within one month, with more noticeable results becoming visible over the following months as additional treatments are received. It is important to note that patients must maintain healthy diet and exercise habits following their treatment in order to maintain their results.
What is CoolSculpting® Treatment Like?
Your CoolSculpting® treatment will depend on your specific treatment needs, which will determine the length of your treatment and the location of the CoolSculpting® applicators. Before the treatment, a cooling gel will be applied to the treatment area. Then, the CoolSculpting® device will be placed on the gel and will begin to emit cooling energy. This may cause an initial cold or pinching sensation, but the treatment area quickly becomes numb and you can relax for the duration of the treatment. During your CoolSculpting® treatment, you can read a book, use your phone, or even take a nap!
CoolSculpting Downtime and Recovery
There’s no downtime associated with the CoolSculpting® treatment. You will be able to return to work and all other normal activities—including exercise—immediately after your treatment. Side effects may include slight bruising, swelling, sensitivity, and redness. These effects are minimal, and typically fade within a day or two.
