What is Juvéderm?
Juvéderm is a family of dermal filler products that are made up of hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that helps the skin retain elasticity and hydration. When injected into the skin, Juvéderm instantly fills lines and wrinkles to produce a youthful, voluminous appearance.
There are several Juvéderm products available, each designed for a specific cosmetic concern. These treatments can be used for the following:
- Lip enhancement
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Nasolabial folds (Smile lines)
- Marionette lines
- Volume loss

What is the Juvéderm Treatment Like?
The Juvéderm treatment is quite tolerable, but we often apply a topical anesthetic to the skin before administering injections. Many Juvéderm products also include lidocaine, a local numbing agent, which will help further reduce any discomfort. During the injection process, we will make multiple injections into and around the desired treatment area. The exact number of injections will depend on your specific treatment plan. The injection process takes only a few minutes, which means that the full Juvéderm treatment can be performed in under 30 minutes.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from Juvéderm?
The results from Juvéderm will be visible immediately, so you can enjoy a more youthful appearance before even leaving your appointment. These results can last between six months and two years or longer, depending on the Juvéderm products used for treatment.
What is Recovery Like Following Juvéderm?
There is no downtime after the Juvéderm treatment, but you may notice some minor swelling or redness around the treatment areas. These effects typically fade within a day or two. Still, you should be able to return to work and other normal activities immediately after your appointment.
